This book is used for the undergraduate and graduate courses is seismic analysis.

Some of the chapter sections on the more advanced topics are a bit hard to understand (sometimes there's a few steps in math skipped), but mostly it's b/c the topics are not that easy to explain on paper. I'm not a big fan of response spectra myself. It also probably doesn't help that we'd skip segments. I'm sure if you read the book end-to-end, that would make it a bit more understandable. Understand that some of the seismic topics aren't going to be interesting to the common layman unless you are really passionate about analysis.

Overall though, Prof. Chopra does a wonderful job of walking a person through single degree, then multiple degree of freedom systems and how to apply matrix algebra and differential equations to the solutions of basic problems.

It's not one of my favorite books. It's good, but not an especially favorite topic, personally.

Plus I have to give this book an outstanding review b/c Prof. Chopra was the one of the only professors who genuinely cared about his students back in those times at U.C. Berkeley. He always made time for his students and was a joy to just sit and chat with. Alot of effort was put into making this book, and was time well spent.

Using this varied archive, Puro Arte turns to performance as an object of study and as a way of understanding complex historical processes of racialization in relation to empire and colonialism.

OMG! Because He Takes Me is the second book in the seductive new series, Because He Owns Me, by Hannah Ford and may I just say - WOW! Like really, really WOW! I began reading Ford's work a few months ago when I discovered her What He Wants Series. She seems to specialize in serialized multi-installment novels with each release being the equivalent of one or two chapters totaling 35 to 50 pages each. I find that I actually enjoy this concept very much as long as the books are released weekly or bi-monthly and hers generally are. Each book is a short quick read and perfect for what I like to call a palette cleanser - something to stop sensory overload, relax my mind and enjoy in between heavy, full-length novels. Ms Ford is exceptionally talented in crafting realistic stories with complex characters and suspenseful plot twists. She also excels at maintaining the momentum of the story throughout the entire book without having to use empty filler dialogue to pace the continuation of the plot. If it's there, you better believe it means something and will be important to the story at some point. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The story is exciting, enchanting, romantic, seductive and arousing. The dialogue is exceptionally well written in the first person with alternating his and her points of view although the main pov seems to come from the female lead of the story. The characters are captivating, engaging, intriguing and sexy as sin. Ford skillfully combines these elements into a delightfully entertaining cocktail of adult romance with a sensual twist of BDSM. Hubba! Hubba!

Book One: This story features recent college graduate Adriana O'Connor who has recently moved from Michigan to New York City to find a job, hopefully in a publishing house and start her new life. Although not unfamiliar with the ways of the world, she is quite naive. And apparently, she is also quite submissive as is quickly discovered by handsome, charismatic billionaire Callum Wilder, CEO and Founder of Wilder Holdings, LLC. Adriana has agreed to meet Nathan, whom she met on a dating app, for a blind date at Whipped, a club located in Midtown Manhattan. Nathan is a no-show and leaves the lovely Adriana waiting alone. Adriana is totally unaware that whipped is a BDSM Light Club and is caught totally off guard when she catches the eye of someone else... someone dark, handsome and much more experienced...someone who wants to dominate and own her...for only one night. What? One night??? Handsome billionaire Callum Wilder is immediately taken with the innocent young beauty sitting alone in the bar but Callum does not date nor does he do relationships. So what does he want with the lovely, innocent Adriana??? Well. he wants one night only of complete possession and mind-blowing sex! What??? Yep, one night and what arrogant and self assured Callum Wilder wants, he pursues and conquers - for one night only, of course! Oh my! Book Two: Callum Wilder is a man on a mission and that mission is to possess the fair skin beauty Adriana, "Lemon" as he likes to call her, for one night. She ran away from him at the club and tried to put the entire incident out of her mind. But apparently it was never out of Callum's mind because somehow he finds her the very next day and all but demands that she join him for lunch. Of course it's not a lunch date because the arrogant Callum Wilder doesn't do dates. Riigghhtt.......not a date then!!! He's determined to have her and still wants her to submit to him for one night. Can he convince her to reconsider and accompany him on a business trip to Florida where he intends to have his wicked way with her - for only one night, of course! Nope, she refuses his offer until........Well, I'll never tell! Yep, the unworldly Adriana is definitely in way over her head with the sophisticated, charming and very dominant Callum Wilder and if she isn't careful, she may just find herself swimming with a shark! Oh my gracious! Buckle up my lovelies! Here we go again! This is the one we've been waiting for.....Does she or doesn't she??? And who is Rose??? I'm dying to know! I can hardly wait for the next installment! Deliciously seductive, seriously sexy, completely captivating and wonderfully entertaining! What more could you ask of a great read? Not a darn thing!!!

This story just gets better with every page. Cullum invited Adriana for a weekend in Florida with a contract for one night of sex. She's not supposed to ask him any questions but amazingly he spent hours asking her about her life and why she wants to work in publishing. About the Author
Don Miguel Ruiz was born into a family of healers, and raised in rural Mexico by a curandera(healer) mother and a nagual (shaman) grandfather. The family anticipated that Miguel would embrace their centuries-old legacy of healing and teaching, and carry forward the esoteric Toltec knowledge. Instead, distracted by modern life, Miguel chose to attend medical school and become a surgeon.
A near-death experience changed his life. Late one night in the early 1970s, he awoke suddenly, having fallen asleep at the wheel of his car. At that instant the car careened into a wall of concrete. Don Miguel remembers that he was not in his physical body as he watched himself pull his two friends to safety.
Stunned by this experience, he began an intensive practice of self-inquiry. He devoted himself to the mastery of the ancient ancestral wisdom, studying earnestly with his mother, and completing an apprenticeship with a powerful shaman in the Mexican desert. His grandfather, who had since passed on, continued to teach him in his dreams.
In the tradition of the Toltec, a nagual guides an individual to personal freedom. Don Miguel Ruiz, a nagual from the Eagle Knight lineage, has dedicated his life to sharing the wisdom of the ancient Toltec.

I read all the reviews here on Amazon and the 1 star comments made me doubt this book.
But,from my experience i believe those reviews were unfounded.

some people don't like that it is time consuming, but that is the whole point of the book to get you to dedicate time to thinking about what really is behind your way of being.It asks you questions and you to aswer them.this is done to get YOU to realize certain truths about yourself instead of having them be handed to you.by asking questions that dispell the lies you tell yourself the truth is able to come out.
As for the repetitions:
they really aren't many and the ones that are there are placed there on purpose because the more you hear something the more likely it is that you will remember somethig...and he's really trying to get you to remember those things.
As for the comment saying "t4a" is simplistic and save yourself the money:
well maybe it didn't work for that person.But for me the truth is that there is more to it,the book explains the damage that not doing these has caused your life and it goes more into depth about what is behind these agreements and why they help.
Ruiz's work has really helped me and many people, if there is a CHANCE that it might help you then you should try it, you have nothig to loose because if you don't like it you can resell on ebay or donate it. you only have great things to gain :0)

Loved this book

Loved this book. It helped me peel the proverbial onion a little deeper in terms of recognizing my reactions to old programming that no longer serves me. It took me deeper into practicing awareness and manifesting my dream. I would recommend it for anyone who truly wants to live life to the fullest. ; )
