Zach Raymond may not leave biographical data to support his background, but just read his books – ONE HOUR TRADING, INVESTING FOR BEGINNERS, SALES, STOCK TRADING – and he grabs our attention despite the brevity of his books.

In this brief but concise book ONE HOUR TRADING Zach discusses Forex trading, and for those unfamiliar with the term, it stands for ‘trading foreign exchange, and he mentions right away the key to understanding and benefitting form this book is to understand ‘price action’ – ‘the most powerful, and also the easiest way to trade the market successfully. It is a style of technical analysis however it uses candles on a chart which represents data. This data shows what the market has been doing for a specific time range. For example if it is a weekly candle then it shows what the market did for that week. All economic data and worldwide news that effect price in any way will be reflected on the price chart so it eliminates almost any use of following the news. Whilst economic data and other global news events are the catalysts for price movement in a market, we don’t need to analyze them to trade the market successfully. A THRILLING NOVEL FOR THE FANS

This novel, the adaptation of the horror film, was quite a fine read.
The story: The continuation of part one, right from the second that it ended. The shape, Michael Myers, murdered several teenagers after escaping from a mental assylum the night before. He now follows the sole survivor to the hospital where she is brought. His psychiatrist, Sam Loomis, is hot on his trail.
The characters were extreamely believable and easy to relate to. The drugged up Laurie running from the killer. The psychiatrist slowly going mad in his quest to stop a patient. An unenthusiatic skeleton crew at a nearly abandoned hospital. All were handled well.
The author's prose was excelent. He went into fine detail throughout the novel, giving it a more believable feel. Unfortunately, this detail does not apply to the last few chapters. They seem rather hurried, as if the author just wanted to finish.
The terror, the violence, the suspense...all will appeal to readers whether a fan of the film series or not.

A GREAT NOVEL! SCARY FOR ALL AGES!

I purchased this book at a used book store and was really happy when I found it, considering that it was out of print and a rare collecter's item for Halloween fans. I read it in about a week. There are a few scenes from the book that are in the television version of the movie and there is one extra kill. The thing I liked about this book was that you got very in-depth with the mind of the characters. Jack Martin, the author, does a great job at writing the book. The book could not have been better. It is a great read that I would reccomend to anyone who likes a good old-fashion do not read when you are alone book. It has the same plot as the movie: Escaped serial killer Michael Myers has killed 3 teenagers on Halloween night and then shot six times, but survived. Dr. Loomis, Michael's doctor tracked Michael down before, can he do it again before Michael kills his sister, Laurie Strode. And that's it. Very simple, but awesome!

This novelization of the mediocre sequel to one of the most successful independent horror movies of all time is a mixed bag. It is filled with spooky, late night atmosphere and tries hard to build tension and suspense from the filmsy story delivered by screenwriters John Carpenter and Debra Hill. On some levels it does succeed where the movie failed in sustaining suspense and atmosphere, but the lack of a strong story to anchor the events renders the chills meaningless. Jack Martin is a pseudonym for Dennis Etchison, who wrote the excellent novelization of Carpenter's ghost story classic The Fog.

About the Author
Paul Davis (Ph.D., University of Wisconsin), professor emeritus of English at the University of New Mexico, has been the recipient of several teaching awards and academic honors, including that of Master teacher. He has taught courses since 1962 in composition, rhetoric, and nineteenth-century literature and has written and edited many scholarly books, including The Penguin Dickens Companion (1999), Dickens A to Z (1998), and The Lives and Times of Ebenezer Scrooge (1990). He has also written numerous scholarly and popular articles on solar energy and Victorian book illustration. His most recent book is Critical Companion to Charles Dickens (2007).

Gary Harrison (Ph.D., Stanford University), professor and director of graduate studies at the University of New Mexico, has won numerous fellowships and awards for scholarship and teaching. He has taught courses in world literature, British Romanticism, and literary theory at the University of New Mexico since 1987. Harrison's publications include a critical study of William Wordsworth, Wordsworth's Vagrant Muse: Poetry, Poverty, and Power (1994); as well as several articles on topics such as John Clare's poetry, Romanticism and Ecology, nineteenth-century culture, and teaching world literature.

David M. Johnson (Ph.D., University of Connecticut), professor emeritus of English at the University of New Mexico, has taught courses in world literature, mythology, the Bible as literature, philosophy and literature, and creative writing since 1965. He has written, edited, and contributed to numerous scholarly books and collections of poetry, including Fire in the Fields (1996) and Lord of the Dawn: The Legend of Quetzalcoatl (1987). He has also published scholarly articles, poetry, and translations of Nahuatl myths. His most recent book of poetry is Rebirth of Wonder: Poems of The Common Life (University of New Mexico Press, 2007).

John F. Crawford (Ph.D., Columbia University; postdoctoral studies, Yale University), associate professor of English emeritus at the University of New Mexico, has taught medieval, world, and other literature courses since 1965 at a number of other institutions including California Institute of Technology and Hunter College and Herbert Lehmann College of CUNY. The publisher of West End Press, an independent literary press with 120 titles, Crawford has also edited This Is About Vision: Interviews with Southwestern Writers (1990) and written articles on multicultural literature of the Southwest.

Great selections and organization in book

This book carries a great selection of classic works by tradition
I used this book for my World Lit course in January(required text), but have decided not to sell it back and keep it for reading sake.

I am used to reading from Norton Anthologies, so was a bit skeptical about reading from the Bedford Anthology. Surprisingly, in the end, I actually enjoyed the Bedford collection more. The context is given in the "in-between" blue pages of the book and gives excellent articles, short stories, and historical background for the main stories themselves. They were extremely helpful and expanded both my knowledge of significant historical events as well as influential literature.

Although, this product is considered the "compact" edition, the book is still considerably large and thick.
It is definitely not a book you would carry around in your purse or take everywhere with you for leisure reading.

It said it was a used a book. It ment it. All the pages were there; however, there v was something sticky on the cover I wish had been cleaned off. But it shipped quickly so it wasn't bad

Morris Panych
Playwright, actor and director Morris Panych has been described as “a man for all seasons in Canadian theatre.” He has appeared in more than 50 theatre productions and in numerous television and film roles. He has directed more than 30 theatre productions and written more than a dozen plays that have been translated and produced throughout the world. He has twice won the Governor General’s Award and has won the Jessie Richardson Theatre Award 14 times for acting and directing. He has also been nominated six times for Toronto’s Dora Mavor Moore Award and three times for the Chalmers Award. Set in Haiti during the 2004 coup and aftermath and enhanced by research conducted after the 2010 earthquake, Killing with Kindness analyzes the impact of official development aid on recipient NGOs and their relationships with local communities. Written like a detective story, the book offers rich enthnographic comparisons of two Haitian women’s NGOs working in HIV/AIDS prevention, one with public funding (including USAID), the other with private European NGO partners. Mark Schuller looks at participation and autonomy, analyzing donor policies that inhibit these goals. He focuses on NGOs’ roles as intermediaries in “gluing” the contemporary world system together and shows how power works within the aid system as these intermediaries impose interpretations of unclear mandates down the chain—a process Schuller calls “trickle-down imperialism.”

About the Author
Mark Schuller is an assistant professor of anthropology and NGO Leadership Development at Northern Illinois University. A writer for Huffington Post, he is the coeditor of four books, including Tectonic Shifts: Haiti since the Earthquake, and codirector of the documentary film Poto Mitan: Haitian Women, Pillars of the Global Economy.

Straightforward analyses of 2 types of NGOs with attention to gender dynamics

An extremely straightforward explanation of how different NGOs work on the ground. From short reflections from his field work, Schuller expands out to assess two types of NGOs: ones funded mostly by governmental sources and others funded privately. He examines different variables (management hierarchies, mission statements, place of operation, gender dynamics) to offer a contemporary reading of how NGOs are (and aren't helpful) in addressing poverty.

This was good, but a little depressing. Of course, everything I learn about Haiti has been depressing.

Haiti- just another place for Brad Pitt and Holllywood to drop Money on

Haiti and other third world countries cannot be fixed by Americans dropping cash via Paypal.
The US is now becoming a third world country due to illegal aliens and many Americans are homeless due to illegal aliens displacing them in the very competetive housing and job market.
Haiti is an ongoing disaster due to unlimited breeding and no birth control. They also live in cement houses in an earthquake zone and in the the book " A Guide to the End of the World" , it was explained that death from Earthquakes is usally due to poor housing choices.
Starbucks started a campaign to donate to Haiti and I boycotted them for two years.
